Public Works Essentials for new employees


Get to know San Francisco Public Works! Public Works Essentials is a New Employee Orientation program that introduces our new employees to the ins and outs of the Public Works organization. In this interactive orientation, new employees will get a peek into Public Works past and a glimpse of the future of our 24/7 organization and learn about our people, projects and programs. This course will highlight basic Public Works essentials and tools to help you succeed in your new career.

Attendance is Mandatory. Please refer to your Appointment Processing paperwork for your assigned orientation date. The paperwork is given to new employees by a Human Resources officer when you accept a position with Public Works. NOTE: This class does not require registration.

Harassment Prevention Training: In addition to the general orientation, Essentials will also cover the city mandated Harassment Prevention Training (HPT) presented by GSA Training & Development.

To track your training hours you must enter your Essentials training and HPT training separately.
Public Works Essentials = 5 hours
Public Works Essentials + HPT = 1 hour
